The dream of owning your own football stadium is on the verge of becoming reality.
Italia TV has unveiled a new brand that has the potential to change the way fans view their favourite European clubs.
According to the channel, the new concept is based on the idea of “passing the baton”, or playing the part of a manager.
It has been developed by a small company called Sportspizza, whose name refers to the stadium.
“It’s a football club that has been founded by two brothers, Luigi and Stefano, and their vision is to create a new type of club that’s not owned by a single individual, but rather a collective of football fans,” the channel’s head of sport, Stefano Galindo, told Sport Mediaset.
“We are using the slogan ‘pass the batons’ to inspire the football fan to make his or her own club.”
It is also a brand that is in line with the trend of sports brands that have been gaining traction in recent years.
“Sportspizzas’ aim is to bring people together, and to inspire them to make their own clubs,” the head of marketing, Marco Tascarelli, told Mediaseta.
“As for the concept itself, it’s based on ‘passing, not passing’, which is the idea that we want to instil in the football supporter.”
The brand is named after a football stadium, which was founded in 1674 by Luigi Pizza and Stefani Fabbri in the small town of Montecito in central Italy.
The new concept has been designed by Stefano and Luigi Pizze, who have previously worked at Juventus, AC Milan and Fiorentina.
They say they want to “pass the torch” from the previous owners of the club, Francesco Totti and Gianluca Di Marzio, to the new owners, Francesc Bertolini and Gianni Pioli.
“The stadium is the most important thing, it was built for us and is a symbol of what we want as a football team,” Stefano told Medioset.
“We’re taking it to the next level and it will be a real challenge.”
The two brothers have already spent the past six years working on the project.
“The new team is formed from a group of the players and the coaches of the squad,” Stefani told Sport.
“It is based in the town of Verona, a city with a population of about 50,000, and is located in the northern part of the region.
The idea is that it will provide a space for the fans to enjoy themselves.
