The train, which is only one of two in the U.S., is set to begin operations in early 2019 and will run on a new route between Detroit and Canton, Ohio, the Detroit Free Press reports.
A train of this type would be considered an extremely fast train by the standards of the rail industry, and the train will be able to go at speeds up to 50 miles per hour, the paper reported.
The train is set for its first trip between Detroit, Ohio and Cantons destination of Canton.
It’s currently being tested by the National Railroad Museum in Washington, D.C., and will be driven around the U, the Free Press reported.
A train with a speed of 50 mph would be able travel between Detroit or Cantons airport at speeds of up to 80 mph.
