A train that had been stuck in traffic for days was finally rescued after it crashed into a road and smashed into a tree.
The train was travelling from a rail yard to a nearby petrol station when it derailed and flipped over, with the passengers inside.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in the crash, which happened on Friday morning.
No one was hurt in the incident, which occurred near the town of Wunggo, near the Chinese border.
The train had been travelling from the Chinese town of Yanan to a station in Manchuria, near a village in Jiangsu province.
According to Chinese media reports, the train was due to return to Yanan on Saturday.
Authorities said the train had stopped in Yanan for maintenance when it struck the tree and the passengers fell over it.
“We rescued some passengers on the train and they are recovering in hospital,” said a railway official, who asked not to be named.
One of the passengers was taken in a helicopter to hospital, the official said.
It is not known how many passengers were on board the train.
